DISC MOWER CUTTER BAR

It is a machine used to cut grass, first appearing on the market in the late 70’s in contrast with the models which has been used up till then, i. e. alternative mower and drum mower currently in a clearly negative trend. 

The successful feature of the rotary mower with disks is to be identified in the big productivity, the excellent quality of cut, the lightness of the machine, the adaptability to the land, less power even if this is a more expensive solution. 

The cutter bar consists of a housing with a plate cover, with a really very low thickness (this is the cutting height limit), that hold a gear train, some of which are configured to drive the blade carrier disc to cut the grass. 

The normal speed of discs is around 3000 rpm with a peripheral blades tip of 80 m/sec (16000 f.p.m.). 

The cutter bars have working widths from 1,6 m to 4,5 m with 4 to 8 discs per bar.
